School Age

Our School-Age program serves children from Kindergarten through 6th Grade.

When you are a working parent, it’s important to know that your kids are in a safe and enriching environment. Our school-age program is designed to partner with you to help your child develop character, enhance skills, learn new things, and make lasting friendships. We do this through a variety of different activities and learning experiences.

After-School

A place to discover, create, and make friends.

Our After-School program is designed to be an extension of your child’s learning day with the opportunity for them to explore, develop, and discover new skills and interests. Our After School Program operates from school dismissal until 6pm.

Schools and Operating Schedule

We currently provide before and after care for children who attend Jubilee Wells Branch Academy. Arrival must be between 7am-7:15am to use our drop-off service.

We also serve Joe Lee Johnson Elementary and Wells Branch Elementary with after school bus service. Before school drop off is not available for these schools.

With all of our schools, our monthly fees include:

  • In-Service Days/Non-Student Days

  • 2 Days during Thanksgiving

  • 2 Days at the beginning and 2 days at the end of Christmas Break

  • Spring Break

Shoreline Learning Center is closed most Federal Holidays (see our Handbook Calendar for more specifics on closures and holidays).

Our After School program allows your student to experience all of the following components of our program. This is not an exhaustive list and other activities may also become available.

Social-Emotional Learning (SEL)

Our social-emotional learning activities and lessons are designed to foster and grow character development from a Biblical perspective. Though chapel lessons are a part of this program, every activity is designed to promote and support character development as a component of SEL. Whether it’s working together to build and maintain a Minecraft server or participating in a cooking project with others, each activity provides the opportunity to not only learn character traits, but also put them into practice.

We also provide materials and activities to help children to learn self-regulation. We all have bad days and we encourage children to express themselves in safe and healthy ways. Thus, we make “safe spaces” available for children who need time to themselves away from the group.

Homework

We provide daily Homework time in our After-School Program. We set aside the first part of each afternoon for students to have a quiet time to work on homework and ask for assistance. Students are welcome to continue working on homework as needed even after the time allotted.

Summer Camp

When school lets out, we dig in for a summer full of fun, exciting, immersive, and educational experiences.

Our program builds upon our After School program with the following additional elements.

Field Trips

Our Summer Camp program gives students the opportunity to go deeper and immerse themselves in all of the same activities we have for our After School program. Additionally, our Summer Program includes field trips to sites that are both educational and fun. Many of these field trips are selected to enhance an activity or project that students are already engaged in.

Themed Weeks

Each week will be themed and activities in every domain will be focused on that theme. As much as possible, this will also include the field trip of the week. Theme weeks help immerse your child in the activities and the educational experiences we have to offer as part of our summer program. Some themes may span multiple weeks.
